[I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV...]I’m all for meds and counselors so I vote for them AND for asking your doctor to a)check your thyroid & give you a blood test for gluten allergy (we know folks who were diagnosed with depression only to find out years later that the real culprit was gluten in their diet–I know it sounds crazy but it’s true)—ask a counselor to b)screen you for ADD (adult women with ADD seriously crave and ingest carbs if they aren’t treated with proper ADD meds…)and then nutritionally I’d use vitamins (very affordable) like Calcium with Vit D, B12 & B6,Fish oil,Magnesium and Zinc. And best of all find a Laughter Yoga group and bring the gift of laughter into your life. How’s that for a huge chunk of advice? ;<)

Barbara is 100% correct. You cannot do this by yourself b/c of the nature of depression; you need someone who knows WTF they are doing to help you. You already know prescriptions alone don’t cut it.

My dear child you are sffering from severe depression regardless of how much medication you’re on. You need someone to talk to. Not necessarily a doctor, but a counselor. You’ve been through hell and that doesn’t go away by itself. I know that’s not what you want to hear; but I’ve seen this many times in my 70 years.

Crap Jen. I couldn’t tell you if you paid me. Sorry. I think it totally sounds like depression and that you are doing what you need to be doing but then why the hell isn’t it “better”? Sometimes it’s just a matter of…(fill in the blank) none of this you don’t know…not any help…sorry.
